A quick word about shopping at Amazon.
This is my favorite place to buy books, BUT I want to insure that whenever I shop there the
P-38 Association is getting the maximum referral fees from my sale. To guarantee this, when I want to buy one of the books below I make sure to click on thebutton once I reach the Amazon site before I do anything else. This will insure that the

WE HIGHLY RECOMMEND! Written by Roger Naylor, a long-time member of our P-38 Association, all the feedback on this book is great. You tend to forget that it's a novel, so realistic is the storytelling. A must read! P-38 Fighter pilot Lee Marks tastes the blend of excitement and fear as he enters the unusual air war over 1944 New Guinea. Faced with deadly Japanese fighters, killer storms, and a devious commanding officer, Marks must quickly learn the idiosyncrasies of all if he is to survive. The rousing story traces the Allied course of action in the unorthodox New Guinea campaign, and it explores the war, the men who make the war, and the natives who find themselves the hosts. The novel is sprinkled with GI humor, the uplifting ingredient that kept it all together, and it flies on the wings of the P-38 Lightning, Lockheed Aircraft’s pinnacle of WW II engineering. |

This book traces the careers of many previously unknown Aces within the USAAF in Europe and helps redress the balance, which has in the past seen all the "glory" for the fighter victories in this theatre shared between the pilots of the P-47 and P-51. Some 17 pilots scored 7 or more kills in the P-38 in the ETO/MTO. |
