My RV has a spare mounted on the rear with a cover. It had the builder's advertising on it previously. I wanted to show off my own connection in WWII with the beautiful P-38. The decal was the answer. I flew P-38ss in the 7th Squadron, 49th Fighter Group, 5th Air Force. (The 49th was the Dick Bong outfit.)

My association with the P-38 began with combat crew training at Van Nuys CA Metropolitan Airport with aerial gunnery over the Channel Islands. Overseas, I went to Nadzab, New Guinea; Lingayen Gulf on Luzon, Philippines; Okinawa; and went in on the Japan Occupation.

The decal was custom made for me from my photo.
