INFORMATION UPDATED ON JUNE 17, 2009

P-38 FLIGHT RESERVATION INFO NOW AVAILABLE HERE

There is no charge to attend the scheduled events, except as noted for the Saturday night dinner.  Please make your plane and hotel reservations early as it is going to be the height of the summer vacation season and the Planes of Fame Museum is on the main road in/out of the Grand Canyon (which would be a nice place to visit, if you'd like to extend your stay after the General Membership Meeting).

The drive from the Holiday Inn in Williams out to the Planes of Fame will take between 30 and 40 minutes, depending on the hour and summer traffic.

Special thanks to aviation artist Jack Fellows, who has generously allowed the P‑38 National Association to use his artwork for our activities and fundraising.

GENERAL MEMBERSHIP MEETING EVENTS
(Tentative Schedule)

P‑38 RIDE ALONG

This may be a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for many of you.  If we have enough members showing an interest, they may have the opportunity this year to do a ride along in a P‑38.  Full details are now available.  If you are interested in purchasing a ride, here is the complete info.

SPECIAL ONCE-PER-YEAR ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP DRIVE

The P‑38 National Association is one of the finest WWII-era organizations out there today.  Not only are we surviving during challenging times for organizations like ours, but we are thriving.

So, we have decided that from opening day of the General Membership Meeting through to the end of July we are giving all U.S. non members the opporunity to join the P‑38 Association for the astonishingly low price of $20 for an annual membership.  Not only is that 1/3 lower than our current $30 annual membership dues, it's even lower than the $25 dues we had set 10 years ago!

If you're planning to bring any new folks into the Association (or want to give them a gift membership), this is the time to do it.

There is no limit to the number of new members you bring in, but this special dues rate is for new members only and will be ending one month after the General Membership meeting, so bring your address books. Special dues rate available between June 26 and July 31, 2009!  All applications must be either turned in at the Membership Meeting in AZ or postmarked no later than July 31, 2009.

We will post the special dues rate application here before the June 26 meeting.

archie jackson exhibit

The P‑38 Association has been invited to have a permanent exhibit at the Planes of Fame Valle Museum.  The exhibit will be completed in time for the Membership Meeting and we will have the formal unveiling at that time -- members of Archie's family, who will fly in from all over the world, will be present at the ceremony.  If you didn't know Archie Jackson, we've included his bio here.

Planes of fame Fly-in

This event will be greatly expanded this year and is set to run the entire day. There will be no admission charge for those attending our Membership Meeting.  The event typically has rides available in many of their vintage aircraft.  Fees vary, depending on the plane.  The Mustang is always a popular choice.

The P‑38 Association will have a merchandise table set up, as well as an autograph area for those who'd like to collect a few P‑38 pilot/crew autographs.

P‑38 History Symposium

On Saturday afternoon, June 27, we will be hosting a P‑38 Symposium at the Museum. We are planning to have several P‑38 pilots and/or crew members on the panel, who will give a short presentation and then be available for questions.

If you would like to be kept informed when there are updates posted about the 2009 Membership Meeting  click here.  You will receive an email with a confirmation link. Just click on the link in that email and you will be added to the Meeting Updates list.
