Fork-Tailed Devil Pin
In the center of the design is the P-38 Lightning Fork-Tailed Devil insignia used by the 49th Fighter Squadron in Foggia, Italy, during World War II. Above he design are the words “Fork-Tailed Devil” written in a green typeface to match the colors in the drawing. Underneath the insignia are the words “P-38 Lightning” in a red typeface matching those in the logo.
The P-38 Lightning was known by the German Luftwaffe pilots as the “”Fork-Tailed Devil”” due to its unique design.
